I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Ciolli as our next dean of undergraduate admission. The hiring process was completed late last week and Mark will begin his work at CatholicU on January 3.
Mark comes to us from the City University of New York (CUNY), where he has served as executive director of admissions and recruitment in support of the 25 colleges in the system. Prior to CUNY, Mark served for eight years at Fordham University, ending his tenure as senior assistant director of admission. He previously worked at the University of Houston. Mark has a BA in English from the University of Houston, an MA in Theology from the University of Saint Thomas, and an MBA from Fordham.
Mark emerged as our top choice because of his professional background and his fit with the mission of Catholic University. He has experience across all facets of the student recruitment and admission, and in particular, has distinguished himself in his work with transfer students and those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. We are thrilled that he is bringing such a range of experience and leadership skills to us.
