Bill Eilola Named Vice President for Enrollment Management at Ohio Northern University

President of Ohio Northern University, Dan DiBlasio, has announced the appointment of William “Bill” Eilola as Vice President for Enrollment Management.  With over 29 years of experience in higher education, Bill comes to Ohio Northern from Lake Superior State University, Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, where he oversaw the offices of admissions, financial aid, registrar, and the office of advising, retention and orientation as Vice President of Enrollment Services and Marketing.  Of particular interest to the search committee at ONU was Bill’s experience on a small campus, affording him the opportunity to work closely with departments not under his purview but important to successful enrollment efforts, including publications, web services, and graphic design.  While at Lake Superior State, the institution’s first-to-second-year retention rate improved from a low of 59% in 2005 to the current rate of 73%.

Bill worked directly with the director of athletics at LSSU to introduce new intercollegiate sports, including JV basketball teams which have had a positive impact on enrollment.  With knowledge of demographic trends and forecasts and a background in data analysis, Bill brings quantitative skills to the position that blend the art and science of enrollment management.  Of his work, Bill commented, “Keeping the best interest of our students in mind as we make decisions each day is important.”

Prior to his service at Lake Superior State University, Bill was Dean of Enrollment Services at Gannon University, Erie, Pennsylvania, and in various roles including Director of Admissions at Grand Valley State University, Allendale, Michigan.  Bill Eilola assumes the Vice President of Enrollment Management position at Ohio Northern University on April 1, 2015.
