North Park University
A Message from President Parkyn
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Genaro A. Balcazar as Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing. In this capacity Genaro will provide leadership for the areas of admissions and recruitment, marketing, student administrative services, and athletics.
Genaro comes to North Park from DePaul University where he has served in numerous enrollment capacities since 1998, including most recently Director of Recruitment Operations. Previously at DePaul he was Director of Admission Operations, Director of Graduate Admissions, and Associate Director of Student Services. Prior to these 17 years of service at DePaul Genaro served at Illinois Institute of Technology as Assistant Director of Multicultural Programs and Admissions.
At DePaul, Genaro has provided strategic leadership and direction to all activities in the department of Recruitment Operations. In this capacity he has established best practice recruitment planning and enrollment strategies for student segments and populations with undergraduate admissions, graduate admissions, transfer and adult admissions, financial aid, student records, and enrollment marketing and communications.
Genaro received his undergraduate education at Grinnell College, holds a master’s degree in information systems from DePaul University, and is completing a leadership certificate in enrollment management from University of Southern California.
After meeting with the enrollment and marketing leadership team, as well as with North Park’s senior leadership team, Genaro wrote: “Over the past few weeks, I have learned much about North Park and have been very impressed with its community, the rigor of its academic offerings and with the unwavering commitment to its Christian faith and mission. I have found a rich and vibrant university with many successes and an even more promising future. North Park is a university that is strongly poised to write the next chapter of an amazing story.”
As president, I’m delighted with Genaro’s decision to join us at North Park. He will bring deep value to the work of the senior leadership team and will provide highly effective leadership in enrollment management and marketing. I look forward to receiving him as our new colleague, and I’m confident that as you meet him you will join me in this.
Genaro will begin this assignment at North Park on May 1, though he is likely to visit the campus from time-to-time during the month of April.
